Terms of Use

billiontestimonies.com and the Billion Testimonies domains · Effective October 4, 2026

First draft, under legal review. Recording isn't open yet, and this site collects no personal information today.

1. Who We Are

Billion Testimonies is being organized as a Utah nonprofit corporation. Until it is formed and this site is assigned to it, Brent Jacobsen runs the site, and "we" and "us" mean him; after that they mean the corporation. We run billiontestimonies.com and the other domains that point to it (together, the "site"). You can reach us at [email protected].

By using the site, recording a video, or sending us a link, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. What Billion Testimonies Is

We invite people everywhere to say "I believe in Jesus Christ" on a short video in their own language. We keep the videos as a permanent archive, count the people who take part, and show the videos their speakers choose to share. Anyone who wants to can also record a longer testimony.

Billion Testimonies has no comments, likes, follower counts or profiles. A video we show carries no information about the speaker except their country. We welcome every person who says "I believe in Jesus Christ," and we take no position between churches. We are not affiliated with any church, and a video in the archive speaks only for the person in it.

3. Who Can Take Part

Adults (18 and over) can record and choose who sees their video.

Teenagers (13 to 17) can record on our site only with a parent's or guardian's consent. Their video is never shown publicly, and at most it can be shared by link. We never show a video of anyone under 18 on our site, in compilations or on our map.

Children (under 13) can record on our site only through family mode, with a parent's or guardian's verifiable consent, and the video stays private. (When recording opens.)

By recording, you confirm that the age you give us is true. If you record for a teenager or child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian.

4. Your Video

You own it. You keep the copyright in your video and your words.

What you allow us to do. When you record on our site, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store your video, check it, count it, transcribe and subtitle it, translate the subtitles, and keep it in the archive. If you choose "everyone" or "link only," the license also lets us show it to the people your choice allows, on our site and in compilations we make for the same purpose, such as a montage of many voices. We never sell your video, put advertising on or next to it, or license it to anyone for their own use.

Your choices. You choose who can see your video: everyone, only people with the link, or nobody (private archive). You can blur your face or record audio only. You can change your choice or delete your video at any time with the delete link we give you, or by writing to us. We remove a deleted video from the site and from storage at once, and from any backup copies within 90 days. A compilation already shown in public may take longer to replace, and we can't recall copies other people have made.

What you promise. You promise that the video is of you (or of your child, if you are recording for them), that you recorded it yourself, that it contains no one else's face or voice without their permission, and that it contains no music or other material you don't have the right to use.

5. Posts on Other Platforms

If you post a video on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok or Facebook with #ibelieveinjesuschrist or #billiontestimonies, or send us a link to it, we may count it. Counting a post means we keep its link, language and country so the post counts once. That platform's own terms and privacy policy govern your post there, and you can delete it there at any time.

We show a video from another platform on our site only if its owner has signed a release giving us permission, and we show only the video and its country, without the platform's post, name, likes or comments. For a person under 13, we keep only the count, the language, the country and a one-way fingerprint of the link that stops it being counted twice. We keep no video, link or name.

6. Content Rules

A counted clip is "I believe in Jesus Christ" in the speaker's language, with nothing added. A longer testimony is a testimony of Jesus Christ in the speaker's own words, and personal experiences, including healing, are welcome. We remove, and do not count:

  1. attacks on other faiths, churches or people;
  2. political campaigning;
  3. fundraising, sales or commercial appeals;
  4. sexual, violent or graphic content;
  5. anything that identifies a child, such as a name, school or address;
  6. videos of someone other than the person recording, without that person's consent;
  7. videos made or altered by AI, or recorded to inflate the count;
  8. anything unlawful.

We decide what meets these rules. We may remove a video, decline to count it, or keep it private, and we will tell you why if you ask.

7. The Count

Each person counts once. You can re-record to replace your clip, but a second clip from the same person does not add to the count. A longer testimony is counted separately and never added to the main number. We decide how to verify the count and may decline to count any video we cannot verify. We publish our counting method, and an independent firm reviews it each year once recording is open.

We always publish the overall count. We publish counts by faith tradition only once the traditions are roughly balanced, and we never publish anything about an individual.

8. Our Site

The site's design, text, translations, map and code belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You may share links to the site and to any video its speaker has made public. You may not copy the archive in bulk, scrape the site, try to break its verification, or use the name Billion Testimonies in a way that suggests we endorse you.

9. Gifts

When our Give page opens, gifts go to Billion Testimonies, the nonprofit corporation. Until the Internal Revenue Service recognizes us as a Section 501(c)(3) organization, the page will say that recognition is pending. We use gifts for our purposes as the Board directs. Gifts are not refundable except where the law requires. (When the Give page opens.)

10. Privacy and Takedowns

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. Our Takedown Process explains how to have a video removed, including a video of your child, a video that puts someone at risk, and a copyright claim.

11. Disclaimers

We provide the site as it is and as available. We do our best to keep every video safe and the count accurate, but we do not promise that the site will always be available or free of errors, or that a video will never be lost. Nothing on the site is the teaching of any church.

12. Limit of Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the site, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to $100. Some laws, including consumer laws in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Brazil, do not allow these limits, and nothing in these terms takes away rights those laws give you.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

Utah law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Utah will decide any dispute about the site, except that if you live in a country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, you keep that right. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to resolve the issue.

14. Changes

We may change these terms. We will post the new terms on this page with a new effective date, and if a change affects how we use your video, we will ask for your consent before applying it to a video you have already recorded.
