Takedown Process
First draft, under legal review. Recording isn't open yet, and this site collects no personal information today.
Anyone can ask us to remove a video or a counted post. This page explains how and how fast we act.
1. Your Own Video
Use the delete link we gave you when you recorded, or write to [email protected] with the link or code we gave you. We remove the video from the site and from storage at once, and from any backup copies within 90 days. You can also change who sees it, blur your face or switch to audio only.
When you delete your video, you choose whether your one count stays in the total, without any video or information about you, or comes out of it. If you don't choose, we take it out.
2. A Video of Your Child
A parent or guardian can have any video or counted post of their child removed, without giving a reason. Write to [email protected] with the link or a description of the video and say that you are the child's parent or guardian. We remove it within 24 hours. We may ask a simple question to confirm the request is genuine, but we do not leave the video up while we wait for an answer.
3. A Video That Puts Someone at Risk
If a video could expose anyone to persecution, violence or other harm, write to [email protected]. We make the video private within 24 hours while we review it, and a person decides what happens next. Anyone can make this request, including someone who is not in the video.
4. A Video of You That Someone Else Made
If a video shows you and you did not agree to it, write to [email protected] with the link. We make it private within 48 hours and remove it unless the person who recorded it shows that you consented.
5. A Post We Counted From Another Platform
If we counted your public post and you want it out of our count, send us the link from the account that posted it, or tell us the post and show us that it is yours. We stop counting it and delete the link within 7 days. Deleting the post on the platform itself is up to you; we have no control over other platforms.
6. Content That Breaks Our Rules
To report a video that breaks the content rules in our Terms of Use, such as an attack on another faith, political campaigning, a commercial appeal, graphic content or a video made by AI, write to [email protected] with the link and the reason. We review reports within 3 days and remove videos that break the rules. The person who recorded the video can ask us to look again.
7. Copyright
If you believe a video on our site uses your copyrighted work without permission, send a written notice to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent, Billion Testimonies, [email protected]. We will register our designated agent with the US Copyright Office before this site hosts any participant's video.
Your notice must include, as the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)) requires:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
- identification of the material you want removed and where it is on our site, such as its link;
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
We remove or disable the material promptly and tell the person who posted it. That person may send a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). If they do, and you do not tell us within 10 business days that you have filed a court action, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days. We stop accepting recordings from anyone who repeatedly infringes others' copyrights.
8. Privacy Requests
To see, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, or to withdraw your consent, follow our Privacy Policy, section 12.
9. Government and Legal Demands
We handle demands from governments and courts as our Privacy Policy, section 9, explains. We do not remove or disclose a video on a government's request alone unless US law requires it.
10. Records and Reports
We keep a record of each takedown request and what we did for 3 years. Each year we publish the number of requests we received in each category above and the number of government demands, without details that could identify anyone.
